Description *EDIT* PLEASE ASK PERMISSION AND GIVE ME CREDIT! This seems to be BY FAR, my most stolen work.  FAIR WARNING: I will be looking and going after the asshole selling my design to the ACTUAL craftspeople. You are cheating them and you are cheating me.  I really don't mind people using it but holy crap, use manners people!

 */EDIT*

I'm trying my hand at vector graphics and this is one of my designs traced over in Inkscape.

A Celtic Wolf I plan on carving out in wood.

I got some of the facial design inspiration from fav.me/d3i67g1

It was easy to find you through images on the net - it's always amazing to see artists get credit for their work!

I'm part of a small Asatru kinship in Toronto, and I'm putting together a website for our members. If you don't mind this becoming part of our web header (we're called Nordanverdulfr - "Northern Wolves") along with some Norse knot work, I'm trying to design a banner that will represent our group. It might be too close a medium to your original Illustrator, so I totally understand if it's a no go.

If the end result impresses ... do you take simple plaque-carving commissions?

Hi Lupas

I would love to use your design please. I carve leather & love tribal/celtic/nordic designs - I just wish I had the talent to design them myself! I do not have a definite project yet - possibly a notebook cover. I will gladly credit your design & send you pics when I get started.

Many thanks

Bev

No problem, this design seems very popular.

I've had people do it in cross stitch, wood carvings, leather crafts, and even tattoos. I should do more in a similar style.

Hi Lupas

I love your celtic wolf design; would you allow me to use it on a t-shirt (for personal use only). Iprefer to make my own rather than buy a mass produced one. Your permission would be really appreciated.

Thank you for your consideration,

Regards

Tony

You should try Inscape and the trace bitmap option. Works wonders. By the way can I use your image for a 3d deign?  inkscape.org/en/doc/tracing/tu…

And yes you may use it. just send me a pic of your finished work.

Beautiful art work!  Like others before me, I would like to ask permission to use this design.  I am planning a couple Celtic leather projects, and this is just perfect.  They would be for sale, handmade by me (not mass produced).  I am happy to send you pictures & of course credit your name!  Thank you -

MooCowlovins In reply to ??? [2014-03-29 02:42:48 +0000 UTC]

is vector celtic different than regular ol celtic, because generally a celtic design is a never ending line meaning everything connects.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lupas-Deva In reply to MooCowlovins [2014-03-29 12:05:28 +0000 UTC]

Vector just means the mathematics type program tool I used to draw it.

Pixel vs Vector
If you zoom in real close on a pixel picture you eventually see all the little colored square blocks called pixels.
If you zoom in real close on a vector picture you see no blocks.

Adobe Illustrator/Gimp uses vector graphics (math to keep lines in place).
Adobe Photoshop uses Pixels (although it does a some vector tool options).

Very cool design. Would you give permission to use this design to carved into leather? Do you require a licensing fee to use it more than one time? I make leather renaissance-style pouches and would love to use it on one.

Lupas-Deva In reply to celticlady1155 [2014-02-19 03:58:04 +0000 UTC]

Interesting.

If you are doing multiple items to sell then I would stipulate a few things.

The design is still mine and I reserve the right to revoke my permission.

Be sure to give me credit. (You can use my username or my real name.)

I give permission as long as they are handmade by you personally (not mass produced by machines or other people)

I would like photos. Photos are awesome.

I'm happy that you like it. Most of my tools were purchased at Lee Valley Tools but that's because of proximity. The store is right here in Halifax and about 20 minutes away. If you're in the US then Highland Hardware or Woodcraft have really nice tools and will probably have what you need.

We moved a few months ago and we have better access to some woods now. In a few more months I'm hoping to get my own quality carving set.

Hi. I've just carved this for a friend and put an album of the process on Reddit. I've credited you as the designer but I didn't want you to stumble on it and think someone is taking credit for your work. It's on r/woodworking if you're interested.

I would like permission to use your vector wolf design on some in-game book covers I am designing for the Skyrim roleplaying game. The finished covers will be a free, non-commercial resource for other players of the game and you would be credited on the resource's title page.

Just in case you happen to be a Skyrim player, it will be the Dragonborn book called "Thirsk, A Revised History" for which a wolf is most appropriate.

Thank you in advance,

Daniel.
