In the modern era, the synthetic menace known a Sinistron [Brainiac / Mr. Sinister] used technology stolen from Galactiac [Brainiac / Galactus] to construct the misshapen robot known as Quasimodox [Vril Dox II / Quasimodo] of the Sinister Society [Society of Sin / Sinister Six]. Quasimodox eventually rebelled against Sinistron and, in the early 21st century, his technology was implanted into the brain of a human in an attempt to create a super-intelligent bio-android. This process repeated itself for decades until the Galactiac technology eventually found its way into the brain of a young Pluvian [Coluan / Pluvian] boy named Martinex 5. As a member of the Legion of Galactic Guardians, Martinex 5 invented the Time Square [Time Sphere / Time Cube], though he is too proud to admit he received some assistance from Legion reservist Yondu Vidar [Rond Vidar / Yondu]. Martinex 5 possesses a computer-like mind and can solve the most complex of problems almost instantaneously. He is especially skilled with computers and cyborg design. Like all Pluvians, Martinex 5 has silicon skin to protect him from the low temperatures of space and eyes that can see in absolute darkness. He has developed a rivalry with fellow inventor Fantastic Lad [Elastic Lad / Mr. Fantastic].
