Real Name: Pyreus Morgna

Born on the planet Xandar, Pyreus Morgna was a worker at his father’s atomic energy plant. When the ageless entity known as Galactiac 13 [Brainiac 13 / Galactus] came to devour and catalog Xandar, Pyreus caused a massive explosion at his father’s plant in a last ditch attempt to stop the fiend from destroying his planet. But instead of being vaporized in the blast, Pyreus was showered with cosmic radiation that transformed him into Sun Lord. Raw atomic energy coursing through his veins, Sun Lord became a human beacon of heat and light. Using his newfound flame-throwing powers, Sun Lord was able to distract Galactiac 13 until the Legion of Galactic Guardians arrived to save the day. Afterward, Sun Lord was granted Legion membership for his assistance in repelling Galactiac 13.
