Once in a while I have a longing for exploration. A longing to see further than beyond my studio's window. But my longing for exploration is never confined to modern times. Mostly, I wonder what it is like to travel in those days. I dream, I romanticize, I envy the men and women who had the courage to explore and seek new lands, lands of which we will never know of, if not for them. Oh … the stories and adventures they would tell me, if I had a chance to meet them ...
This piece is made from hammered copper, a variety of brass wires, leadfree solder, patina, paper, resin, fabric, tiny tiny Amazonite beads, salvaged watch gears and an artisan ceramic bead … all strung together with a leather cord.
* the neck circumference of the necklace is 17 inches
* the pendant is 4.5 inches from bail to tip of wire,
