Miseries of Sarx the SilcoonEpisode 02: Psychics can be Jerks or Sarx is Punny; Roth the Vigoroth is an Idiot or You don't piss off the Mob Family
---------------------------------
You know, sometimes I get all philosophical and start asking the Big Questions. Other times, I just wonder how I'm going to survive what happens after getting glomped by one of my Vespiquen "girl friends".
One of the Big Questions I've always asked myself is "why are Bug-types like me so weak?" See, I have some self-confidence issues because of this. I'm an above-average Silcoon, since I haven't Evolved, and also trained myself to learn Safeguard, Whirlwind, and Silver Wind. Really, I don't know any other Pokemon that's done that. Though there are legends of a Pikachu that never Evolved but managed to win countless battles.
On that note, I have issues with how powerful some Psychic-types get to be, just because there are so many Pokemon species that are weak to their attacks or non-resistant to them.
Seriously, I'm talking major overpowering here. At least in Kanto, where there are no natural dark types, and Beedrill are the only Bug-type that have a good offensive attack learned early on. I'm just glad that I know Safeguard, since, if I'm prepared, I don't get caught off guard by Status effects or the like.
I might be biased, since I'm Bug-type which are supposed to be strong against Psychic-types but not resistant to them *and* Poison-type which are weak and ineffective against them, but I think there should be more Dark-types roaming around here. I don't mind Espeon or Ralts, Kirlia, Gardevoir, and Gallades, but Drowzee and Hynos are just plain sadistic. Really, I nap under Berry trees, so I guess they see me as an easy target.
The wonderful thing is that I now know Silver Wind. Ah, to send out slashing arcs of wind at enemies to either sends them flying or to cut them up…Ahem, yeah. No, I'm not sadistic, I just like using Silver Wind! It's my best attack!
Anyway, Drowzee and Hypnos aren't my favorite Pokemon species, but that doesn't mean I don't know a few that don't freak me out or anger me. Arceus' world isn't just Black and White, you know. There are a lot more colors than *that*, really.
--------------------------------------
I'm a pretty reasonable Silcoon. I like to take naps, spend time with friends, and find out the latest news in the region from the not-so-local Pelipper. Nice cheery fellow. Bit of a klutz, though. I think the seventh time on the job, he ran into a few sapling trees and got thrown to the ground. He had to be Dug out of the ground by some Nincada, but he was okay. I think…his clumsiness hasn't gotten him severely injured…yet…so I think he'll be alright.
Anyway, like I was saying, I'm pretty reasonable. Don't forget that. Unless you focus too much on the "pretty" part, then we'll have issues and I might just send a Whirlwind your way. Just 'cause I'm a White-Haired Pretty Boy, doesn't mean I won't take insults well.
Just the other day, a Vigoroth named, how *original* (note the sarcasm), Roth came through the area and started shoving his weight around. You know, I thought it was Slakings that were supposed to be the chubby or fat ones, but this Vigoroth took the cake. Seriously.
But the thing that he did, and the rest of us wouldn't dream of doing, was disturb the Seedots napping in some of those trees. They dropped like the acorns that they look like.
This was definitely the smartest Vigoroth on the planet. You don't mess with Seedots, especially after the change from Feral to Anthro, because they now don't just look like brown heads with feet. They look like toddlers or little kids, and most Pokemon don't take to kindly to anyone or anything that hurt kids especially the Nuzleaf and Shiftry that are their parents or siblings or extended family, so Roth had just pissed of the entire "clan" for hurting their children.
See, Dark-types aren't just feared because of prejudice, though that plays some part in it. They are also feared because of their resistance to Psychic-types. But that isn't what Roth was about to learn. I think humans have similar groups to what Dark types can be like, mobsters or Yakuza. I don't think there are any Honchkrow or Murkrow around where I live, but they might just be really good at hiding, and I don't have night vision, so who knows?
Anyway, the first thing that I heard and saw was the landing of light feet onto the ground around the dunderhead Vigoroth, and then the camouflaged Nuzleaf surrounded him. They don't look intimidating at first glance, with their flared pants and pointy noses, but Roth was in for deep trouble. How do I know that? Because I know that the Shiftry that live in my neck of the woods are ruthless. And, no, that doesn't mean that there isn't someone named Ruth in the area. Haha.
But there's one Shiftry boss that definitely has my respect. Her name is Olivia. Apparently she has a Machamp friend that flexes way too much named Alex. That being said, Olivia, since the Change, went from being the most feared Shiftry in the region for her almost daily wrestling and training with Ursaring, to also being very attractive. Just don't tell her I said that, or she'd hurt me. Not too badly, but still…
Let's just say that as soon as Roth took one step forward to attack or run away, he got hit by dozens of Bullet Seeds from the Nuzleaf, and then got hit by Whirlwind from Olivia. I'm pretty sure I cheered, but I wasn't the only one.
All in all, yesterday was exciting. But now I wonder what happened to Pelipper. And *are there* Murkow and/or Honchkrow living nearby? I have no clue. Oh well.
