Description
They never kissed. Not on the lips, anyways. It was part of an unwritten, unspoken agreement between them. Kissing was for couples, for people who liked each other. Ike and Shinon hated each other, loathed each other. No matter what else they did, they would never kiss.
It wasn't as if Ike never got the temptation, really. When Shinon's eyes were fixed shut, his nails digging down the hero's back as he moaned out profanities, it was all Ike could do to resist. The blunette dismissed this as him wanting to shut the sniper up, though, and never acted on his temptation.
No one was really sure how the arrangement had begun. The redhead had probably been drunk, but no one was quite sure how that ended up involving have Ike screw him into a tree. In the end, most people pretended they didn't know. It was less awkward that way.
It didn't matter to the pair when (or where) they did it. If Ike happened to be frustrated over something, he'd quickly find the sniper and slam him into a tree. Likewise, if Shinon was in a particularly annoyed mood, he'd steal the hero from important tactical meetings to have a rough romp against any near surface. Walls, trees, the ground, a nearby tent, if they were lucky; it didn't even matter to the pair.
Their sex was anything but gentle. They didn't love each other, and gentle sex was for people who loved the other. Shinon and Ike didn't love each other. They weren't even close.
They never would love each other, which was what made their relationship safe. They hated each other, and that meant that anything they did wouldn't have any affect in the long run.
Everyone in the camp played ignorant, but Shinon and Ike both knew the truth. Yes, Ike did see the disappointed look in Titania's eyes when he and Shinon entered the meal tent disheveled. He pretended that Mist didn't realize what all the marks on Ike's neck were as she healed him, and he definitely He pretended that he didn't see the slightly hurt look in Soren's eyes when the commander had a particularly big mark on his neck.
Shinon didn't get off Scott-free either. The sniper would pretend there was a different reason Rolf wouldn't look him in the eyes when they trained together. Shinon pretended that Gatrie never inviting him out to pick up women was the general 'finally getting the message.'
It was all they had, a mutual agreement. It was sex, a way to relieve tension. No matter what, they would never kiss.
