This is a set of my four illustrations based on tales of mythical animals from different cultures which I produced for my degree show in 2012. The Ceryneian Hind from Greek myth is a doe with golden antlers that could run faster than an arrow in flight. The Nekomata from Japanese legends are cats with forked tails that walk comfortably on two feet, and are said to have powers of necromancy. Sköll is a wolf from Norse mythology who chases Sól (the sun) through the sky every day trying to eat her. The Thunderbird from Native American folklore has the ability to create thunderstorms.
