Spending the Day with Daize: Preparing a Face to Meet the Faces You Meet

Again the beautiful and strong wrestler and boxer Daisy (DaisyAmanda ) shows her everyday’s life:

“Heeey Y'all! It's your girl Daisy! And I LOVE makeup, and have a TON of the stuff! I guess that's because I wasn't allowed to wear any when I was young. Mama was pretty strict about that at home, and when I went off to private school in Atlanta, there was a "no makeup with the school uniform" rule in the dresscode. I mean that was okay. It was a girls school afterall, with no boys around to impress. But when I started college, all that changed. Especially when I joined a sorority. Tri-Delta ("You've tried the rest; now try Delt" 🙄). Appearance suddenly mattered if you wanted to be accepted, and wanted to "compete" with the others. Makeup became my "warpaint." I was a bit timid, reserved, kind of a prude actually. But when I put on my warpaint, I became a different person: funny, outgoing, loud, and even...sexy. That was the "face" that I wanted to project to the world.

When I became a fighter, that "face" was even more important. It helped make me look much more mature. It was when I started working over at Sharp-Images that my flown-blown image appeared. I was "Ol' Daize", complete with dark red lipstick and heavy eye makeup. It's a look I've kept, and it's the one that people are the most familiar with, even when I'm working with different promotions. But at the end of the day, all that stuff comes off. I'm surprised when I look in the mirror. Who IS that young girl, so hopeful, so fresh-faced? It's good to be reminded that she's still there.”
