Description
Bowling is a very good sport to include the disabled. Or at least wheelchairusers. Unfortunately the two walkers of the group did not think of that. When Alexandra (the paraplegic) and her quadriplegic friend invited Michelle (armless) and her asian friend (who has no name yet) to a team match, they thought they would have an easy game with those two. After all, the quadriplegic girl can not even lift a finger, right? How could she push a bowlingball? But the wheelchair girls came prepared. With a little help and a special bowling device, our quadriplegic friend is an avid bowling player. She plays regulary with Alexandra.
For the other team it is apparently the first time. Especially for Michelle who is very proud of her achievements in all kinds of sports it was quite a shock. But you just can't kick a bowling ball like a football. Her teammate is struggeling to just pick up the ball. With the heavy weight in one hand she will just fall over, let alone take a single step. For Michelle not a reason to give up. A matter of honor it is, after all. But our two wheelchair girls are not mean. They just wanted to play a little prank, as Michelle is always bragging about her victories in sports. After they crushed the walker-team in one game, they lend the asian girl Alexandras wheelchair. With it, the asian girl managed to win alone the second game. Michelle was sulking in the back. Having to wait at the side of a game for the first time. But after a while she startet cheering for her asian friend. Finally understanding how her friends often feel, when they watch her playing some sort of sport.

This image was done quicker than usual. I'm getting the hang of how to draw these girls. I got the Idea after I played kegel (bowling with nine pins as it is played in europe) myself. The device of the quadriplegic girl is based on a real life device. I think the ball is supposed to sit loosely on top. When the chair stops abruptly the ball slides down the ramp. I still do not understand why the end of the ramp is so high above the ground. That must make a hell of a sound when the ball falls on the ground. But thats how the device looks like. I just drew it a little bit stylized to make it easier to draw.

The quadriplegic and the asian girl have no names yet. Feel free to make suggestions. As the asian girl is supposed to have polio I think a chinese name is fitting. As in China polio is still a problem.
