I can't believe I forgot to submit the original ballpoint pen version of this design. *Slams head on tablet* Anyhow originally this was meant to be a tattoo design for a client, but they ended up wanting something more detailed instead. Go figure.
FYI, this was my very first design of the Thokloks.
Drawn in 100% ballpoint pen. Prints available.

You've got to be kidding me... that is not ballpen. That is... that is... 
Now I want that dragon tattoeed on my entire back. Damnit.

This is a great picture, well drawn and all, but I'll tell you right now this is pretty much useless as a tattoo design. If someone asked me to ink this on them (and I'm pretty sure most tattoo artists will agree here) my reply would be: That's great, but where's the rest of it? I'm assuming you don't have any large tattoos or any tattooing experience because if you did you'd know that it's a very, very special design that can get away with being rectangular. This isn't one of them, I'm afraid. It isn't even rectangular anyway it's just a square crop.
There's also far too much dark detail. If you tried to tattoo something like this you would have to find an incredibly talented and careful artist (a rare creature) to avoid it becoming a dark blob shaped like a few pieces of dragon.
In future, if you really want to make tattoo designs, make it a complete image and use larger areas of white, because you have to remember that human skin isn't white and won't contrast as well as this with the darker areas of the design and people like their tattoos to be seen from a way away.
Anyway, I hope this will help you make more functional tattoo designs, because your artwork is good and I'd like to see more people with work like this on them.
