Heh, this is a screenshot of Jedi Knight 2 (2002). It's a preview shot from before the game was ever released, as seen from the unfinished HUD. I remember when I first saw this thing I nearly wet myself in excitment. A huge fan 1997's Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight, I had waited years for a sequel, and then this preview article for the game appears on the main page of Gamespy.com. I stared slack-jawed at the then unbelievable graphics, and then wept unabashedly as all people do when a dream comes true.

Believe it or not I only had a wimpy pII 266 that couldn't run anything from the 21st century and I bought the game anyway. I knew the computer was on its last legs and it was only a matter of time before dear ol' dad bought a new one. A few months later he brought home a shiney new p4 1.8 complete with ati radeon 7500 graphics card, that could run anything and everything that an avid gamer such as myself could throw at it. I played the hell out of the game.

These days, even with the radeon 9600 card I put in it, it can't really run anything new, heck, even stuff that came out last year doesn't really perform well on it, even at their lowest settings. Ah well. It's 3 years old this month, and in computer years that's like 60. I wonder if it's still worth getting some extra RAM. This one only has the 256 it came with. Money's tight though, college is sapping me of my funds and I didn't get a whole lot of work over the summer. I guess I've gotta wait for my dad to decide when we need a new computer. When he does, mark my words I WILL GAME AGAIN!
