Description
Where does it all begin? All remote solitude, all recluse distances bidding dusk farewell,
it follows thought's landscape far and wide,
scatters out and drifts thinning mist away.
Glimpsed in the still night of autumn wilds,
a lone mountain monk wanders back home.
- Wei Ying-wu (737-792 CE)
There was something soothing about sitting on the sun-warmed rocks, camera positioned and focused, and cable release in hand
Update: redid the colors and bumped the color temperature, more satisfied with it now
Nikon D200
Sigma 10-20mm EX HSM lens
Lee Grad ND filter

So peaceful and serene.... you can sit there in the grass and let your mind wander into beautiful distance. Just the antenna bugs a little - but anything else is soothing serene beauty.

I don't like the antenna either, but it was tricky to try to clone it out so I didn't want to put in the time

I really like how the frame opens to the right side in v-like shape, but it's too bad the antenna is right in the middle of the frame...
Did you use any strobe to lighten the foreground? Because on my screen, it looks like it.
Nice reflection work as always

Thanks, yeah that antenna blows, I didn't want to spend the time cloning it out but I may re-edit this one and get rid of it.
I combined 5 exposures in this one, that's why the foreground appears lit, I didn't use any other lighting.

So that is sort of a HDR shot? What exposure range did you cover then? I'm really curious, but very interested in to that sort of technique

Yep. Typically I've done 5 exposures, 1EV apart. I like to bias them toward the highlights or the shadows usually (eg 3 toward the shadows 2 toward the highlights).

This is pretty impressive, the air is so clear that the colors seem very crisp, sharp and well composed picture, especially the colors stand out...

Wow, this is just beautiful! I love the inclusing of the grass in the foreground. The pink contrasting with the deep blue is really appealing, too!
