Congrats on the DD mate...it's a lovely shot.
BTW, I was thinking about you the other day when I was reading this book [link] It's about meditation...really elegantly written and very very interesting.

That seems like a good book, it mysteriously just appeared in my shopping cart
If you're not careful, you might get a lot of enjoyment from reading such books

It is a great book, I find myself carrying it with me everywhere and flicking through it whenever I've got a quiet moment. I've actually got a number of Buddhism books - Teresa, my wife, is a registered Buddhist, and it's through her that I've become interested in Buddhism, meditation, as well as yoga.
I believe you once mentioned a book that I've also really enjoyed, "Buddhism Without Beliefs" which is also excellent.
All the best my friend

That's terrific mate. I first got into Buddhism about 14 months ago. At first I got a couple books but then quickly became addicted. Now I have about a hundred (I had to get a special bookcase just for them) mostly on Zen Buddhism. "Buddhism WIthout Beliefs" is one of my favorites. I also really enjoyed this one [link] It's written by an American court clerk who worked at the Nuremberg trials after WW2 and then went to Japan for their war crimes trials, that's when he got involved with Zen.
Here's one that came out recently which I enjoyed very much [link] It's more of a chronicle / travelogue / historical guide, but it might be somewhat foreign if you're not already a little familiar with Zen. It really makes me eager to visit China.
Btw, you might also enjoy this: [link]
If you're familiar with the Planet Earth series, this is similar but only about the wildlife / culture inside China and more spiritual. It's very beautifully done and narrated, I get goosebumps each time I watch it.

Thanks for the links my friend...those two have also dropped into my Amazon basket. Two of my favourites, which you may or may not have are The Blooming of a Lotus [link] and Being Peace [link] by Nhat Hanh
Thanks also for the link to the Wild China DVD...I love BBC Wild documentaries and haven't seen that one. Wild Andes to Amazon is one of my favourites of the series, and of course I love Planet Earth. If you're interested in travel/culture DVDs, I'd highly recommend BBC The Story of India [link] d_sim_d_6 which is stunning.
I'm addicted to these kind of things, they fuel my need to travel. I actually sat down last night and produced a document with all the "big" trips I have to make in the rest of my life. Big 1 month to 6 week trips, which we should be able to start making again in 3 or 4 years. Stuff like Patagonia, the Atacama, Altiplano, Titicaca and Cuzco, the Canadian Rockies and British Colombia, Northern India...etc etc. There are 10 trips, as well as quite a few week long trips to places in Europe like Iceland and North Eastern Spain.

I just ordered Blooming Lotus and the first book you showed. I have one of Nhat Hanh's books, Heart of the Buddha's Teaching, it was one of the first Buddhism books I got. I never finished it though because usually I'm reading many books at the same time and I was drawn into some other books. I've been reading this one recently too, not finished yet but it's pretty good [link]
I like these documentaries about countries. Discovery Channel did a few (called Discovery Atlas) but I found them rather disappointing and short. I think the BBC does great work, so much more focus on culture. Discovery Atlas seemed to describe what typical Americans might be interested in; technology, fame, that kind of thing, nothing much on culture.
