Description Megaraptor meaning "Giant Thief" is a genus of Megaraptorid from the Late Cretaceous period 91 to 88 millions years ago what is now in the Portezuelo Formation in Argentina. These animals were agile predators and might of pursuit it's prey which was small or medium sized with speeds around 32 Kph (20 mph) like the 6 meter long Elasmarian Macrogryphosaurus. It was discovered in 1997 by Fernando Novas with it's 30 cm claw, he thought it was a giant Dromaeosaur which is 8 meters long, even bigger than Utahraptor which is 7 meters long, in 2000 in Katsuyama of Japan a new dinosaur was discovered named "Fukuiraptor", it was thought to be a Charcarodontosaur because of it's build so now Megaraptor wasn't a Dromaeosaur at all and now a Carnosaur. The only known skull is from a juvenile Megaraptor it looks like a Dilongs skull and now and still happening right now if Megaraptorids are Carnosaurs or Coelurosaurs, but now they are classified as "Incertae sedis" meaning "uncertain placement" from now on.
