Description
One day, Hedgy was waddling through the forest, looking for something interesting to do. He saw a bright flash of colors in the sky, and he stopped to admire it. It was a rainbow, and it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. He wondered what it was, and if he could touch it.
He decided to follow the rainbow, hoping to find its end. He ran across the meadow, through the stream, and over the hill. He didn’t care about getting wet or tired, he only wanted to reach the rainbow. He thought that maybe there was a pot of gold at the end, or a magic wish, or a new friend.
He finally reached the end of the rainbow, and he was surprised by what he saw. There was no pot of gold, no magic wish, no new friend. There was only a big puddle of mud, and a frog sitting on a lily pad. The frog looked at Hedgy and croaked.
“Hello, little hedgehog. What are you doing here?” the frog asked.
“Hello, Mr. Frog. I was following the rainbow. I wanted to see what was at the end,” Hedgy said.
“Well, you found it. This is the end of the rainbow. It’s just a puddle of mud,” the frog said.
Hedgy felt disappointed. He had expected something more exciting and wonderful. He had wasted his time and energy for nothing. He sighed and hung his head.
“Is that all? Just a puddle of mud? I thought there would be something more,” Hedgy said. The frog smiled and hopped off the lily pad. He splashed into the puddle and made a big splash. He looked at Hedgy and winked.
“Who says it’s just a puddle of mud? It’s a puddle of fun! Come on, join me. Let’s have some fun,” the frog said.
Hedgy looked at the frog and the puddle. He saw the frog’s smile and the mud’s sparkle. He realized that the frog was right. It wasn’t just a puddle of mud. It was a puddle of fun. He decided to join the frog and have some fun.
He jumped into the puddle and made a big splash. He laughed and splashed with the frog. He forgot about his disappointment and enjoyed the moment. He had a lot of fun.
He learned that the end of the rainbow wasn’t what he had expected, but it was still something special. He had found a new friend, and a new way to have fun. He was happy.
He thanked the frog for his friendship and his fun. He said goodbye and waddled back to his burrow. He had a new story to tell, and a new shiny thing to add to his collection. He had a piece of the rainbow in his heart.
