Description
Another Poser experiment... this time I took a very new, but fairly low res figure by Baron Vlad Harkonnen: Angela. I really like her. This is what has been written about her:"Angela 1.0 is a revolutionary new Poser figure with complete built-in morphable genitalia. With her entire mesh and Cr2 file built from scratch, and at just 1.27MB in size, she is only one-sixth the weight of most Poser figures sold out there on the internet. Angela 1.0 will load into your scene and render faster than any commercial figure on sale anywhere. No more 3-5 minutes just waiting for that 60MB figure to load."
For all her "light weight" I think she can be very appealing with the correct textures. Check her out at: [link] . The Baron has provided plenty of content for her and two other figures. He's currently working on a high rez figure. I can't wait.
Artist's notes: Done in Poser Pro 2012 with bullet ricochets drawn in Photoshop.

Thank you very much! It was mostly a test picture for the figure, maybe I should try to make a more involved picture.

Will you do another one with her without her boots?

Hadn't really planned on it, but I suppose I could do that.

tried to buy the A3 figure starter pack, but the blasted site wouldn't take my CC or my paypal... was wierd... might try again nest payday, but not going to lose sleep over it. Besides, if he don't want my money, renderosity will certainly take it. (LOL) Oh, and nice pic, has the pleather look to the suit. Girl looks very nice.

Thanks for the comment, Echoarty. I wonder if his site is in some kind of trouble... his updates on progress for the high rez figure he started have kind of petered out. It'd be a shame, because as this picture demonstrates, a lot can be done with his moderate polygon count figures and I'd love to support him.
The suit was a freebie from his site. That and the other freebies more than made up for the cost of Angela herself.

yeah, found the suit about 2 or 3 months ago. When I found yo couldn't install it without the Angela figure, rode the fence on whether or not to clog my already overstuffed runimes (having hard enough time finding things as it is ) with another character and stuff for said character. But was impressed with all his older V3 stuff, and his newer V4 stuff, and was going to give him a chance. Oh well
His loss!

I think that, like a lot of content creators, he was tired of being ripped off and tried to develop a scheme by which he'd actually sell more of his stuff rather than finding it in pictures made by people he KNEW never bought it. Sell the characters in order to get at his freebies... on the surface it sounds like a fairly good idea. A shame really, because I think his efforts are probably costing him more than he reckoned on. I really hope he manages to hang on and keep creating.
I would not be so involved in promoting and protecting good content providers if I had any real skill in 3D modeling myself, but that is an area of development for me. I'm a bit behind my dear Molly, but even she is barely starting at it and may not ever become proficient.

Thanks Lady T, I like the costume too, which is a freebie for the Angela mesh I used in the picture. I'd really like to see if I can resize it to accomadate V4, but I'll have to do it manually as Wardrobe Wizard support is not offered for Angela. I'll have to check Crossdresser, which I don't use as much, but I don't think it supports Baraon Vlad H's figures either.

Talking about the figure first to buy,,, very cheap, and very reasonable for the price. A lot could be done with her. I think the best out of their artwork was the piece called "Angela". I think it really used nice textures, and really brought it out.
Okay, now for your piece.
I think that the clothing is quite nice, though the reflection for the type of fabric it would be is a little too shiny.
The character looks VERY nice. I have to say,,, though if you're trying to copy wonder woman, this character's chin is a little too sharp, unless you're trying for Linda Carter, then it's close.
I have to say I'm impressed on the eyes on this figure. They really are nice.
All in all I look forward to seeing this character in a series.
I hope this critique wasn't too bad or rough.

I agree about Angela, she is the mesh I used here. I agree about the clothing, although I lazily used the shiny textures that came with it. I think if I used different textures on the clothing as I did on the character it would me a lot more effective and realistic looking. The chin is a bit sharp; I was just messing with the mesh to see how much I could lose Angela's basic look; I had Carter in mind but wasn't trying to make an exact representation of her Wonder Woman (although I could not resist putting the tights on Wonderful Girl here ).
I retextured the eyes, too, and am very pleased that you noticed. They don't really jump out at you unless you look at the full sized version of the picture. The skin shaders as well as those for the eyes are a result of using the EZ Skin 2 system by Snarlygribbly. I am really impressed with the results and you can't beat the price (he offers it to Poser users free).
Your critique was fine and helpful as always. I appreciate your candor, my friend.

Thank you, old friend. The Angela mesh really did good service here and I whould maybe be looking at using her a bit more. I think she passed the test of whether or not a lower polygon count figure can be made to look presentable.
