3 little Owl [Caligo] caterpillars. The smaller one is just freshly hatched, while the 2 facing eachother are a little more mature. Found on a banana tree leaf in the Indianapolis Zoo's butterfly conservatory, where i work..we're not really supposed to have larvae in there but the Owl butteflies occasionally would lay eggs on the banana trees & they would hatch out.

Owl caterpillars like to huddle together while resting, eating, & the whatnot. They are probably the strangest looking caterpillars I have ever seen i love them, definitely one of my favorites in the butterfly gardens.
