Um, well, where to start? WHAT?! The first two episodes of season 6 were crazy! I don't even know! WARNING! Spoilers below!Things I liked in the episode:
-We saw cool characters come back
-Prismo, Death, Party God, the Lich, Starchy, Shelby, Gob Grod Glob Grob (whatever their names are)
-We finally meet Finn's biological dad (I have more thoughts on this though)
-The Lich isn't evil anymore
-My fave BroTP (Finn and Jake)
-Finn lost his arm
Things I did NOT like:
-Finn's dad is a total WAD!
-Finn's dad didn't even care about Finn
-Prismo DIED
-There are possibly evil criminals out there
-Finn lost his grass sword
-Finn lost his arm
The reason why I put "Finn lost his arm" under both is because a) it was kinda cool/brave/heroic the way he lost it (good), b) I WAS RIGHT! (good), and c) I never thought it would be this soon plus it was really sad (bad).
This episode was just crazy. I'll definitely need to watch it 1000 more times. It's just.... wow. Also, WHERE THE HECK IS HIS MOM!!!!!!! Hopefully, Pen and his crew will elaborate on that a little more.
Okay, I think I'm done ranting (for now), so, please comment on what you thought about the episode or what you think of my drawing (which I have drawn to take place after "Escape From The Citadel"). Thanks!

I knew it would be intense (from watching the commercials and just knowing Pen would do something crazy intense), but yeah, I never thought the season would start off with this! And the episode was so fast-paced that it kinda made my head spin afterwards! Definitely need to watch it some more!

Same here! Pen Ward has been really making his life suck right now with his dad being a criminal, losing his arm, and getting dumped (even if he was a jerk when she dumped him).

I'm apparently the only person in the universe who thinks the Lich SHOULDN'T have been turned into a baby. I mean, for a being as big as the Lich you would think he'd get a better send off then this. Or at least one with more dignity. I have a good feeling he's going to "revive" his Lich-ness again someday, but for now, I'm just being bitter.

I don't really know what to think now. I mean, yeah it's awesome that they won't have to worry about him now, and he was kinda cute (in a weird, hybrid creature sorta way), but it was just an odd way to send him off.

i don't think we'll be seeing the last of the lich though. since treetrunks and mr pig got stuck with babylich, so its likely we'll see the lich more whenever we see this couple.

I really, REALLY hope that this isn't the last time we'll see of him. I mean, if he was suddenly brought back as some cursed individual, like the poor man he was BEFORE he became the Lich I could get behind that. But this is just insulting to me. It's like having Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty instead of becoming a giant dragon to fight the prince, just transforms into another princess to be saved and doesn't bother anyone again. >B(

I could go either way with the Lich. But I would kinda like to see him come back as a villain.

But he already WAS a villain. The only reason he wasn't in seasons that often because he was too big of a threat to deal on a day to day basis.

I think the lich was either pretending to be in stasis, waiting for the right moment to take over the citadel or, because prismo mentioned that if his original body woke he'd dissapear, the lich heard it and knew it meant death so he woke up prismo and killed the original body

Here's a better question: If the Lich is only active when he's killing living things, WHY THE HELL DID IT NOT KILL JAKE WHEN HE WAS HANGING AROUND ALL THIS TIME? The other gods I could understand, them being deathless and all. And Peppermint Butler is in his own league. But Jake? He's a DOG. A shapeshifting talking dog, but a dog nonetheless. He's not any form of powerful deity, just some mutt who got lucky by gaining a beneficial mutation. B(

To my understanding, Prismo specifically said that the Lich was inactive unless the chance arose to cause "mass death", not just death. In other words, as long as he was trapped in the time room with no way out, he couldn't do anything to further his greater goal-the extinction of all life-so killing a handful of petty mortals was purposeless to him as it did comparatively little to move death along on a grand scale.
The Lich is, after all, extremely single-minded, and does not see the point in committing actions that do not bring about his own insidious ends. This is a fact that has been his downfall in the past, such as when he dragged Finn and Jake into Prismo's dimension with him rather than stopping to deal with them before going to make his wish-a choice that was ultimately his undoing.
If you take his character into account then, it kinda makes sense that he acted the way he did. He chose to sit idly and allow those around him to be lulled into thinking that he was not a threat, all the while plotting until an opportunity came along for him to escape to a more densely populated area where he could wreak havoc while taking control of the people there in order to cause greater destruction.
That said I do agree that he could've used a bit of a better send off as a villain, but that's just my personal view on the matter. I mean, after all, if you take his last three defeats into account, he 1) had his god damned face ripped off (both brutal and awesome to watch) 2) got frozen and shattered and 3) was tricked into trapping himself in a pocket dimension with a nigh omnipotent wish master.
Not that AT has ever been a show to go the expected route (nor should it be), but each of these defeats was on some level emotionally satisfying. After giving him such weight and presence as a character, having him turn into a giant baby "because magic goop" does feel a bit unsettling, and not necessarily in the kinda-creepy-but-still-good way AT usually has of wrapping up these things (such as the end to many a Lemongrab episode). It almost kinda feels like we got cheated out of a much larger story :-\
But ah well, nothing to do but hold out hope that the plot comes back around and is better resolved later. In storyboard artists we trust.

THANK YOU! Personally, I never felt satisfied with how the Lich was defeated each time. I always felt that they could have fought him in a more (for lack of a better word) climactic fashion. I know WHY they keep doing this, because having this threat would make Finn and Jake stop having random adventures. And I know, it's hard to create a climactic battle in an 11 minute episode. I even understand the ironic way he has been defeated, being a creature of pure death, being defeated by being given life. But like you, I do feel cheated. It's unpredictable, but it's not nearly as satisfying as it should have been. If they just wanted him out of the season why not just have him go into space? It was the PERFECT SET-UP for him! 
I don't know, I have a feeling this ISN'T the last we'll see of Lichy. Because there's still one thing about him that has yet to be explained. His connection to Finn. Think about it. In all of his encounters. He always aims for Finn first. It's true, he is a quality adventurer, but how does he know him so well? But every time they come across each other, he always aims for Finn. Not Jake. Not anyone else nearby. Just him. Why is that? And here's another thing, if Billy knew Martin, did the Lich know about him too? 
And who knows, if that baby-lich ever got hurt, or died, would that mean the Lich would be "revived"?

These explanations have cleared up SO MUCH about the Lich for me! Thank you screwinon and sansfure for that!
Personally, I think that maybe another reason the Lich didn't just kill everyone in the time room was because he was formulating in his mind a plan to kill EVERYONE (not just those in the time room), and when he knew that Finn and Jake wanted to go to the Crystal Citadel, that was a perfect way to create mass destruction (like you guys said).
I also think that maybe the Lich was somehow (magically?) trapped in the time room. I mean, if he wasn't trapped, why not just leave and cause death somewhere else? And when Finn and Jake were going to the Citadel, that was his perfect escape. Just my thoughts.
Also, thanks for checking out my drawing and helping me and others understand the Lich a little more!
