A stealth aircraft developed by the JSF (Joint Strike Fighter) plan. Multiple types of F-35 exist for a range of purposes. The A type is the smallest and lightest variant, a basic model used by the US Air Force. With light controls and High-G capabilities, it is also the only variant among all types to have a 25mm gatling gun as a fixed weapon. As with the B type, it is also known as the "Lightning II"
