The creature seems to be winded, but it's still quick, and it takes a lot out of you to attack. You get a few good hits on it before it pulls away. There's something powerful about this creature, and staying close to it is exceptionally dangerous--still, there's only one other Vanguard here, and she could use the help.
You take 1 Wound from the horde as they leap onto you, desperate to defend the creature who screams the death cries of Haveners. Though the Echoer itself tries to attack you, you manage to roll away from its claws.
