Introducing Priyanka Singh!

Priyanka is by far one of the youngest friends of the group. She’s only 16 years old and struggling her way through school.

Her parents were originally from Galahd. They made their way to Crown City as refugees. Her father served in the new Crownsguard while his wife found work in the city by opening her own restaurant. Unfortunately they were subjected to prejudice from local Insomnians. Often felt unwelcome and out of place in their new home. Being tipped off to the impending attack, her father took his wife and fled to Old Lestallum. Where they both opened up a restaurant serving unique home cooked meals familiar to Galahd. When Crown City fell they fled to Lestallum where they gave birth to their daughter. During the days of dark, her father returned to duty and never returned one day. It was presumed that he either died or became a Daemon. Priyanka’s relationship with her mother became strained when the dawn returned. At the age of 6 Priyanka’s behavior started taking a turn. Eventually they took their things and returned back to Insomnia to re-establish their lives.

Her mother tried to teach and maintain traditional cultural values but Priyanka care anymore. She rejected her cultural and traditional values to substitute with new modern ones. After all, there’s nothing left to save. Home was nothing more than a memory. This broke her mother’s heart. Priyanka hated the Royal Family and Crownsguard. She felt they destroyed their lives and took her dad away. Her troubling behavior and political views made her a delinquent in her mother’s eyes. This didn’t stop her from trying to get her daughter’s life back on track. However, it’s hard to do when their entire lives had been disrupted for over 10 years. They’re so used to chaos and disorder that they have no idea what to do with the peace and calm they have now. Living in and being born into survival mode did Priyanka no favors.

This is where Priyanka meets Indra. At one of the many retreats her mom forces her to attend. They bond quickly over campfire tales and delicious food. At least she liked to cook. She liked to surprise Indra with her Galahd infusion dishes. Priyanka does have an interest in cooking and the restaurant business. However, she wants something more for herself. There’s little to no interest in pursuing that as a career. She wants to be a politician. She’s great at public speaking and riling up a crowd. She can debate anything and everyone easily. Even Thea proved to be no challenge. Maybe she’ll be treated with more respect than her parents were.

Hopefully Priyanka will find her way. Maybe seeing Indra make something of herself at her big will inspire her. It’s never too late to make a change, do better, and grow.

Unfortunately being the youngest friend of the group, her role is really small. We don’t see her as often as the others. Priyanka is often left out of the more adult (18+) situations. Her friends know better than to subject her to things too mature for her age. Such as parties, drinking, and etc.

This leaves little room for her to establish herself in the story. There might be room to explore outside of it though. After all, Priyanka won’t be 16 forever. I think she’d be almost 19-2 when the story ends. In the meantime, the most interesting about her would have to be her past. Too bad we don’t hear much about it in the story either. Might as well lay it all out here.

Pryianka’s character is East Indian and is inspired by…you guessed it. Pryanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai! As well as Gula, the girl with the green eyes on the National Geographic magazine cover that had the world in a chokehold. Apparently Priyanka is a popular girl’s name and I like it a lot. Singh is a touch of West Indian, if that’s any indication of her father’s ethnic background.

For some reason this model has a massive head. I later went on to fix it but that’s how it came out in this render so I’m leaving it. Future renders won’t have that problem. I know I wanted her to look young but the big head was a bit much. It’s giving alien.

I thought I would have her wear something a little more traditional for her character bio. Something I know her mother would love.
