WARNING: Self harm

Chapter 3: New Enemies
Hours have passed and the sun was setting into the horizon. After Bailey, his mother, and Bendy finished eating at a pizza place, they planned to give Mickey or the global pod another visit before nighttime comes as a happy ending to the day.
As the sun's light slowly began to fade and stars slowly start to shine, Bendy couldn’t help but look up into the sky. There was no moon available so it must be a new moon.
Speaking of moons, he couldn’t help but wonder where Sophia was now. Was she in Heaven? Happy to be free from suffering? With her creator? He thinks she is. But he never got the chance to say goodbye. To say sorry. Maybe she didn't want his goodbye or apology.
Bendy wanted to cry again, but he stopped himself from feeling his eyes water. He felt that longing to hear and feel Sophia. It hurt him so much to think that he’s never going to hear or feel her again. The world hated him and he wanted the pain to end. His friends or family try to help him, but nothing helped.
Angelina saw the sad look in Bendy’s eyes. She felt concerned since she watched him still remain unhappy as the day passed. She knelt down in front of the demon and placed a hand on his cheek.
“Hey, sweetie,” she said. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” Bendy replied. “Just... thinking.”
Angelina looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “Don’t lie. This is serious matter ever since... you found out.”
“Mother’s right, Bendy,” Bailey said. “You haven’t been the mischievous little demon with that wide smile for a year now. Are you still sad about her?”
Bendy’s eyebrows furrowed. He knew Angelina and her son was right. He hasn’t been himself for the past year ever since he saw Sophia’s grave. He hasn’t smiled for a long time and cried for a long time. He turned into a completely different person and it wasn't good.
“I could come by every day to help you, if you want,” Bailey said.
But Bendy didn’t want them to be involved in his business. “It’s fine, B. I’ll be fine.”
”Oh my god! Is that the demon that just murdered a warrior?”
The demon and the angels looked up and saw a group of girls whispering to each other, all staring at Bendy.
”Oh my god, it is!” said a girl.
”Sheesh... If he murdered a magical girl and is a demon, he shouldn’t even be here. I mean, villains do murder, am I right?”
The girls agreed and later on, passed the thre toons. When they were far from them, Angelina clicked her tongue.
“Do these kids understand how to show sympathy?”
“I know, right, Mother?” Bailey asked. “At least show sympathy!”
Bendy just stood there, head down. He felt his heart ache more and he almost wanted to collapse like the words that was spoken to him were a pile of rocks crushing him slowly. It worsened when the people who passed by the demon and angels now started whispering.
“That must be the ink demon who killed that one girl,” said a teenage boy whispered to his friend, who is a girl.
“Oh, yeah. It must be,” said the girl.
The two started walking away, leaving Bendy to feel even more stares coming down onto him, making him feel more attacked than ever. Bailey looked at his friend, who’s hands are curled up into shaking fists.
“Hey, Bendy,” Bailey said. “It’s not true. You didn’t hurt Sophia, did you?”
Bendy didn’t want to tell him. He didn’t want to tell his best friend and his mother that he killed her. They would hate him. He took a deep breath and wipes his eyes that had tears leaking out of his eyes.
“Let’s just go home.”
Bailey and Angelina were silent before they looked at each other, dumbfounded. Bendy covered his face with his hands to stop his tears from falling. Angelina then sighed and picked up Bendy and carried him in her arms. Then she flapped her wings and flew up, his son following.
On the way back, Bendy buried his face from Bailey, hiding the tears that soaked Angelina’s dress. His grip on her was tight.
Bailey thought those words hurt Bendy and judging by his reaction, he was more sensitive than before. He knew Bendy was hiding something. But to talk to him, he wants to find a perfect place to talk. The only thing Bailey thought is the park.
“Why don’t we go to the park?” Bailey asked. “We could relax there for a bit.”
Angelina looked down at Bendy, who didn’t reply. “Well, I don’t know about Bendy. And I don’t think it would make him better.”
“Come on, Mother! We could talk it out there.”
“I suppose. Would you like to go to the park, Bendy?”
“Sure..,” Bendy replied, quietly.
Then Angelina and Bailey flew to the park. As Angelina held the broken demon, she can tell that the park won’t make it better.
———
The park was still open and they decided to just take a walk. Angelina placed Bendy down for him to walk. He walked, letting Bailey and his mother follow.
As they walked, they tried to ignore all the people who looked, glanced, or glared at Bendy. Their looks made Bendy feel tortured, but he wanted to get that moment with the ninja turtles off his mind so he just continued walking.
One adult man glared at Bendy and said, “Go back to Hell, Demon.”
Bendy tried to ignore it, but the words flashed in his mind, reliving the memory of being tortured by the Christian group. Bailey went and placed his hand on his shoulder when he saw that Bendy’s feeling down.
“Don’t listen to them,” Bailey said. “Forget what they said.”
Bendy tried to do what his friend said, but it made it feel a lot worse. He couldn’t forget it and it hurts. It was killing him inside.
Angelina sighed. “Let’s sit for a bit.”
“Yeah,” Bailey replied. They walked over to the nearest bench and sat there.
Bailey wrapped his wing around Bendy in an attempt to comfort him.
“Hey,” he said. “What happened to her isn’t your fault.”
Bendy remained silent, his head down and eyes shut tight. Nothing helped him when Bailey said that. He killed her. It is his fault. How is it not?
“Hey, Bendy,” Bailey said. “The turtles are just grieving as well. People get angry and say stupid things. And anger is a part of grief.”
Bendy still didn’t answer. The pain is still there no matter how hard Bailey tries to patch up the wounds.
Angelina sighed and placed a wing over both her son and Bendy.
“Bendy,” she said. “Don’t let what they said get to you. And don’t let it lead you to self-harm. They just don’t understand.”
They don’t even understand what I’m feeling, Bendy thought. They’ll never know how it feels to kill someone you love and then you find out that you really did kill them.
He sighed and got off the bench.
“I’m taking a walk. Don’t follow me.”
“Bendy, you shouldn’t—“ Bailey said, but Bendy glared at him.
“I said, ‘Don’t follow me!’ Are you deaf?!”
Bendy then walked away in anger, leaving the cartoon angels feeling hurt but also, concern.
——-
Bendy just walked, not caring about the looks he was given. He really doesn’t want any more of Bailey’s attempts. He just wanted to be left alone.
I regret agreeing to go to the park, he thought. You’re just as stupid as you always are, Bendy. You really are.
The cartoon demon continued walking far away from the bench. He couldn’t get the thoughts of the words and all the events that have happened out of his head.
He was so lost in his thoughts, he didn’t notice he was about to meet someone.
“Well, well, well.”
Bendy stopped and looked up. He saw his old friend or former friend, Cuphead. There were cracks on his head, meaning that he has went through a lot of fights. The cup stood in front of Bendy with a very dark glare. His brother, Mugman behind him, shaking with intimidation like that glare made anyone fall onto their knees. Bendy froze in fear.
“If it isn’t Bendy the little devil darling.”
Bendy didn’t reply as he shook. Cuphead was his friend, but after Sophia died, their friendship shattered. Especially since Cuphead and Mugman witnessed her death by his hands. Now he comes face to face with the same cup face that has an expression that looked like it was telling Bendy that he deserves to be tortured.
“How are you?” Cuphead asked, mockery in his voice. “Made any new friends today?”
“Cuphead,” Mugman said to him, quietly. He seemed like wanted Cuphead to stop.
“Never thought I’d see you again,” Cuphead said.
Bendy felt the need to attack Cuphead but at the same time, run away. He didn’t want to interact with him. Last year, Cuphead lunged at him and he and him got into a huge fight and luckily, Bendy got out of the fight and immediately ran off. Afterwards, Cuphead just could not stop being mean and couldn’t even stop reminding Bendy of what he has done, which is Bendy’s most hated memory: That night...
“Mind your own business, Cuphead,” Bendy said. “Leave me alone.”
“I would if you move out of the way,” Cuphead said.
The cartoon demon growled at Cuphead’s statement. “You’re in my way!”
“Whatever,” replied Cuphead. “Of course you’re going to say that.”
The cup and the demons just stood face to face with anger blaring in their eyes.
“Look at you,” Cuphead said. “Bandages on your arm and wearing that cute little gemstone around your neck. Wow. You’ve changed a lot. Guess you’re killing the monster that killed her.”
Bendy felt his anger increase and his hands formed into fists. Unknown to him, ink was slowly beginning to melt on him.
“Can’t believe you’d walk out here,” Cuphead said. “Don’t you see? You’re a monster. A murderer. A killer. You’re just like all demons. Heartless, merciless, uncaring. They that don’t belong here. They deserve to stay where they belong: Hell.”
That did it...
Bendy dashed forward and pushed Cuphead down onto the ground. His vision was suddenly darkened. He raised his fist, but then he realized what was happening. He saw half of his vision was black like he was half blind. He let Cuphead go, got off him, and stood up.
He wiped off the ink that covered half of his face and remained standing there, feeling fear attack his chest, causing him to breathe heavily.
Cuphead saw Bendy’s anxious face and sat up, eyes widened with shock.
“You can’t attack me?” he asked. “You really can’t attack me?”
Bendy just remained silent as an answer.
“Wow. You really changed a lot. From attempting to kill yourself to being so scared to use your other forms? You’ve grown weaker than I thought. You’ve become a coward. Cowardly enough to not use your form to protect your family. Maybe Sophia would be happy that you deserve such torture. Glad you learned after ending her life that way.”
“Shut up!” Bendy said. “Stop saying all that like she spoke to you! She didn’t speak to you at all!” His eyes welled up with tears at both Cuphead’s and his own words.
“Hilarious. You killed a girl who was so young! Who has a younger brother who needs her when her parents pass away one day! And look what you did!”
Bendy fell silent at that. It was true. Sophia is young and has a younger brother who is having a problem with education. And when her parents pass, them...
“I bet she’s mad at you, hates you deeply, for hurting her like that. She’s got a brother and he has an education problem and look what you did. Sophia wouldn’t even be there to help him with work when he’s an adult.“
Bendy felt his anger rise and along with it was pain.
Cuphead clicked his tongue as he shook his head. “So pitiful. Suicidal, cowardly, and is hated by the world. I bet all your friends are your friends because they pity you.”
That hit Bendy hard.
“Admit it, Bendy,” Cuphead said. “You’ll never be a good demon. You’re just a freak like all those demons. Even the Devil. Come on, Mug.”
Mugman followed his brother and passed Bendy, who looked like he was about to break down. Before he would reach out and touch him, Bendy ran off.
Bendy ran away, not caring if he’s far away. He ran into the area with open grass and ran to the tree. He planted his back to the tree and slowly slid down. When his bottom touched the floor, he tried to stop his tears from filling up his eyes more, but the words that were shot at him that night destroyed the wall keeping his tears from leaking. He buried his face into his hands and cried.
As he sobbed, he didn’t care who watched him. He felt suicidal thoughts flood him. He was in so much pain and the more he felt it, the more his thought of suicide increased.
The coldness of night covered him as he felt his inner wounds bleed and become infected by the feelings of self-hatred. He soaked his gloves with his tears as he remembered everything negative.
After a long while, the park was about to close and his sobbing quelled. His face was buried within his knees. He sniffed a lot and wiped any tears away, but it never stopped coming.
Someone, please kill me, he begged silently. Please... Someone... please... I want to die, so someone do the honor of killing me. Point a gun at me, stab me, give me dip to drink. Please... just end my life...
He was seen by Bailey and Angelina, who flew to him.
“There you are!” Bailey said. “I cannot believe we missed sight of you!”
Bendy only replied with sniffles. Bailey sighed and sat by him.
“Hey, come on,” Bailey said. “It’s late. We should be going home now.”
Bendy sniffed. “You’re right,” he replied, his voice still weakened with sorrow. “Let’s go.”
He wiped his eyes and Angelina crouched down to pick him up. She flew up once Bendy’s in her arms and her son followed.
Throughout the trip home, Bendy had his face buried into Angelina’s shoulder. Bailey felt regret for bringing Bendy outside. Now he sees that Bendy’s suffering again.
“Bendy,” he said. “I’m sorry I had to bring you outside. I thought I could help you but...”
“It’s fine,” Bendy replied. He looked at Bailey, his face soaked. “I think I deserve it.”
“No!” Bailey said. “You don’t deserve it. I... I was stupid. I thought I can help you, but...” He fell silent again.
“I think you’ve done enough for me.”
Bailey just sighed and followed his mother to Bendy’s house. There, Angelina knocked on the door.
And the one who replied was Henry.
“Angelina!” he said.
“Hey, Henry,” the toon angel replied in a low tone.
Henry’s eyes rested upon Bendy being held in her arms. Judging by what happened, it didn’t end well for him.
“He’s had a rough day,” Angelina said as she gave Bendy to him. “My son tried to make it better, but...” She paused there. Since she knew Henry knew about his condition too, she didn’t need to say anymore details.
“I know,” Henry replied. “Thanks for helping.”
“Anytime,” Angelina replied before Henry went in the house.
There, Henry sat down on the couch with Bendy being held in his arms like a baby.
“Bendy?” Henry asked.
“What?” Bendy asked, harshly.
“Did something happen?”
“Yes, it did happen. And don’t worry about me. I’m okay.”
“No, you’re not.”
“I said I’m okay!”
“Stop lying.”
Then Bendy just pushed Henry off and ran to his room. He slammed the door and locked it quickly.
Henry, Boris, and Alice could not help but think about what has happened today.
Because even if they were far away from the door, they could hear Bendy crying.
——-
When it was bedtime for Henry and his toons, they all went to their rooms and slept. However, Bendy took his time waiting until the right chance to start making the move.
When the entire house was quiet, Bendy got up from bed, unlocked the door, opened it, and left to the kitchen. He grabbed a small kitchen knife and went to his bedroom, closed and locked the door, and began to remove his bandages.
Once they were all removed, he saw the cuts he left before. He rubbed it and felt the short feeling of stinging in it. Bendy didn’t care and grabbed the knife. He aimed it at his wrist and when he remembered Cuphead’s words, he sunk the knife deeper into his inky skin. It was painful, but he only hissed quietly in pain as tears filled his eyes.
He remembered his dream and he gave himself another cut. And at every dark thought and memory, he started cutting more and more. Even over his own healing wounds. When his left arm had enough cuts, he continued on with his right. He cut over his healing scars and felt sharper pain intensify.
“Why would you do this to yourself, sweetheart?”
What he said to Sophia when she was hurting herself echoed in his mind. That made him leave another cut.
“It hurts me when you’re hurt.”
He placed a cut on himself and was about to give himself another one, but he stopped when another memory of his words popped into his brain.
“You’re worthy to everyone who loves you. I love you. So, please. Don’t scratch yourself again.”
Bendy tried to tell himself to cut more, but he just placed his hand holding the knife down. He looked at the injuries he left on his arm. His healing wounds were back to bleeding and his arm was covered in new wounds. He sighed and placed the knife down. He went off his bed and to the bathroom. He closed the door and turned on the light. He opened a cabinet below the sink and took out the first aid kit. He took out the antibiotic ointment and placed it on his wounds, only to wince in pain. He then picked up the bandages and wrapped it around his wrist. Then he did the same to his other arm.
When he was done, he stared at his bandaged arms before he turned off the light and left the bathroom.
He then went to his bedroom and grabbed the knife and put it in one of his drawers. Then he went to his bed and buried himself beneath the blankets. As he remained laying there, his heart grew more heavy.
Every time, he thought. Every time I try to die, that memory pops up. Why can’t it just stop?! Why can’t I forget it!
He felt the need to slap himself after thinking that. He doesn’t want to forget that memory. Ever. Sophia was the depressed one and Bendy was the one to free her from her inner demons. And now, Bendy felt like he’s the depressed one now and nobody came to help him.
He released a shaky breath and remained cuddling under the blankets. He covered his face to stop another round of tears that was coming. He remembered himself speaking to Sophia when she was scratching herself in her half-wolf form. Bendy was there to stop her and spoke words that calmed her tortured soul.
And now she’s gone, he wanted her back. But she hated him. He didn’t care if she hated him. He wanted her back to hold him. To calm him down like what she did during a thunderstorm. But no... she decided to leave him.
He began sobbing quietly and bringing his blankets up to his face to quiet his sobs down more.
I miss you, Soph. I miss you so much.
That night, he cried himself to sleep.
