Here's a pic I did of our first 2 Magical girls Mahou Tsukai Sally and Himitsu no Akko chan. In 1966 Sally the with was the first Mahou Shojo anime and first Shojo anime it was inspired by the classic TV show Bewitched it then came back in 1989 but with a different style as you can tell I drew Sally from the 1989 anime

Himistu no Akko chan was the first Mahou Shojo Manga in 1962 and soon became an anime in 1969 after Mahou Tsukai Sally and then returned in 1988 and then another one came out in 1998 I drew the 1962 version I thought the pink dress was too cute
