I don't plan on doing much art this year, but I want to at least celebrate this Year of the Dragon with Mashin Hero Wataru fanart.

No obvious dragon in this one, but I really wanted to try to capture this moment from episode 20. Levels 3 and 4 proved to be rather taxing on Wataru and Ryūjinmaru. By the time they had restored harmony to both realms Ryūjinmaru had expended his life force multiple times.

No longer having even enough energy to maintain his mech form, he says farewell to Wataru, and his form is reduced down to a dragon's pearl. Wataru is soon informed that on the 5th Level there's a flower whose nectar can revive the dead, so not all hope is lost, and Ryūjinmaru is revived soon enough.
