Oh my god, YES FINALLY. I was actually hoping I would be the first to do this, I even tried it a long time ago but DAMN is it hard to draw a fat Rachnera. Still, thank you for drawing this. At last my favorite character has some expansion art.

Well, there's two schools of thought on this issue...

I did very little research while doing this picture, but the impression that I got was that while spiders can gain fat, their size is determined by their exoskeleton. Β They say what ends up happening is that while a spider might get fatter they still stay the same shape, just it becomes a bit more cramped inside.
In the end, it was an aesthetic choice. I enjoyed the contrast between the fattened human body and the normal spider body and felt it kind of made two characters in the scene--the spider body struggling to stand, and the embarrassed Rachnee, reminded of her indulgence by her spider body's actions.
