Sonic has always dreamt of being a hero but he took this little dream one step beyond. He wanted to become the ultimate hero: mastering as many fighting styles as possible so as to not be disadvantaged against any opponent. He dreamed of rescues, wanted lists and damsels in distress. He was trained in martial arts, sword fighting, slug slinging, shuriken throwing and other styles of fighting.

However, it wasn't enough, not to Sonic. He trained for days and nights, neglecting his friends, family and studies in pursuit of his goal. It wasn't until the headmaster intervened did he stop. The headmaster told Sonic of a truth that he denied since the start of his training: if he continued this path he would never be satisfied with what he knew and yearn for more control. So much so that by the time his hunger was satisfied he would be too old or too late to save the day.

Stubbornly Sonic denied this truth, saying that he just had to work faster for he despised the thought of defeat, he hated seeing injustice, he feared failing those he swore to protect.
