I do to. Horohoro is the coolest. Thats why I started a fan club for it, . The only bad thing about it is that the English version SUCKS compared to the Japanese version.

Yes, the English version does suck. A lot.

Have you seen Gankutsuou? It's not a manga as far as I can tell... or a manga may have been made... I'm new to it so I don't know yet. But there are doujinshis and the anime just rocks O_O And it's got SLASH >8D

Mahkohime In reply to AquaSplash [2007-11-30 20:26:40 +0000 UTC]

I haven't seen it, but then I haven't had the money for anime or manga in a while and don't have cable/direct tv so I can't watch anime there either.

What's it about?

Awwwwww

The story is set in the future with high technology, spaceships and everything. But it was actually based off a book called The Count of Monte Cristo which was set in (I gather) medieval times. The main character in the story is Albert, an innocent boy who grew up in comfort and peace as a rich 'aristocrat.' His father General Fernand has set his sights on becoming the next president, and when a festival on Luna (a new city on the surface on the moon) arrives, it is there that Albert meets the count and becomes captivated by him.

Many years ago, the count was someone called Edmond Dantes. He was a young man who fell in love with Albert's mother, and jealous, Albert's father set something up with his other two cruel friends Villefort and Danglars to make it seem as though he had committed a terrible crime. Edmond was then sent to prison where he slowly started losing the will to live, and even started trying to kill himself. In the end, he accidently summoned up a demon and after much shock finally agreed to give up his heart and body in return for revenge.

In the meantime, Albert's father married his mother and Mercedes (his wife) was none the wiser. It was only many years later when the count finally arrived back on Earth and started piecing the 'game' together so as to slowly reveal his and his father's past did she find out what had happened, and during the new war she left him with her son to start a new life.

However during the 24 episode series, you see many lovely things Albert becomes very, very close to the count and I think he's fallen in love with him Which is so cute because although the count has a job to do, he still has enough of his heart left to be really sweet and cute to him ^-^ Eeeeeeekkkkkkk. BEST - PAIRING - EVER 8D *Fangirl scream* You just gotta see it for yourself The count is always there when Albert gets in trouble, always there when he's sad, always there when he wants some love and he's so cuddly and fun loving and boyish that you can't help but adore him *_*

And you see the children of the rich people growing up hating the fact that they're not being married for love, but for money or for talent or to make their own families look more powerful and important.

And Villefort is so evil. He's had an affair with his old wife (who is now Danglar's wife) and because it would mean him loosing the faith of his public, he buried the child alive in a small box in the garden and left it there to die. Only someone found it and took it away, and many years later 'Andrea' came back from prison and tried to rape Albert's fiance because

[link] The characters section will probably tell you more about the series as you flick through if you want but it's absolutely amazing O_O Episode 1 (Japanese with subs) is on youtube and that's what I first saw. It completely captivated me and I actually started swearing at my downloading programme for not downloading the episodes fast enough after that Kept my PC running all night and everything.

But anyway I dunno if you're for or against downloading. But if you're for it I can tell where you download the eps.

Yes, mangas rock. They are what the original artist and writer intended. Shoenen Jump has especailly good stuff (Bleach, Naruto and formerly Ruroni Kenshin, my fav manga). Great stamp, mind if I use it?

By the way, is that your personal collection? how many mangas do you have?

Mahkohime In reply to lightanddarklove [2007-09-14 15:10:12 +0000 UTC]

All my stamps are free to use, so sure, you can use it. I'd be honored.

Yes, that is my personal collection. I have only about 20 mangas (if you don't include the comic book format manga and Shonen Jump).

lightanddarklove In reply to Mahkohime [2007-09-16 00:10:57 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!

Well mangas are rather expensive and it takes a while to build a collection. Took me about 4 years to get my 45(ish) mangas, but thats becuase I have a job now (hooray for payday).

I've only read up to volume 5 (half done), but it's getting better and better.

That's what I need, too. Then I can actually have money past Christmas.
