Description
Angels are divine winged beings made of light and purity native to Heaven, created by the god Andromedus using heavenly light. Angels were created to preserve justice and order of creation. The first angel to exist was named Metatron, who personified the Divine Will of Andromedus. They eventually split themselves into the entire angel race, with the 7 most powerful of them being the Archangels, that embody the 7 virtues. Different types of angels exist in categories called Spheres/Choirs: Seraphim/Archangel, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominions, Virtues, Powers, Principalities, Archons, and Angel. The most powerful of all the angels, Lucius felt as though he and his fellow angels were made to be slaves and had no choice whether or not they served, so he and 1/3rd of the angels rebelled and were cast into the darkness of Hell after they were defeated. Angels are born fully grown with strong belief in order, law justice, and righteousness. Going against one's own beliefs and values is greatly looked down upon by their society. If an angel breaks the laws set for them, they're exiled from Heaven, never able to return unless they go through penance equal to the crime they committed. Angels are not allowed to: disobey commands from a member of higher rank, procreate, travel to realms unsanctioned, kill their fellow angels, directly interfere with mortals without permission, kill Innocents, overstep their given jurisdiction, and wield dark energies.

All angels hold the ability to use celestial and spirit magic, and being natives of Heaven, they are beyond time and space and are unaffected time changes and paradoxes. Angels cannot be perceived by normal beings, and some of the higher ranks are completely incomprehensible to lesser beings unless they want to be. Angels of the first and second sphere have no defined forms and can appear however they wish. Angels wield different powers according to their rank. Angels grow weaker the longer they stay away from Heaven, and when descending into the material world using an avatar, they lose most of the vast array of mystic knowledge they once had. When an angel sins and starts to become malicious, their appearance changes to reflect it. Their holy aura fades, their feathers darken, and they lose the ability to wield light. If they fall further they will eventually fully morph into a demon. When an angel's manifested physical shell is destroyed beyond repair their essence returns to Heaven to regenerate, the only way to "kill" an angel permanently is to erase or disperse their spirit essence.

There are 3 ranks of angels are known as Spheres or Choirs, each having 3 subdivisions.

First Sphere:

Seraphim - the most powerful and metaphysical of the angels, they each represent divine aspects of the God of Heaven Andromedus. They protect him directly.

Cherubim - the Pax Dei angels who protect Heaven and command it's armies.

Thrones - angels who represent love and beauty, they spread love and joy throughout the cosmos.

Second Sphere:

Dominions - watcher angels that govern the laws of nature and reality, they're in charge of overseeing the lesser angel spheres.

Virtues - angels who aid the operation of movement in reality, they're affiliated with celestial bodies and the elements.

Powers - war angels, tasked with fighting evil and developing Heaven's weaponry.

Third Sphere:

Principalities - guardian angels assigned to protect people, places, and objects.

Archons - scribe angels who record history and study the nature of reality.

Angels - the lowest class of angels who do menial tasks for gods and higher class angels, sometimes they're mortals who've ascended to angel status after death.

If they achieve a great feat, they're awarded with titles and greater power.
