Description

Chowder and Ristar! Now that’s a very fun crossover idea! My third ever Cartoon Network/Sega crossover without Sonic and Gumball involved (after a 2013 Rhythm Thief/Regular Show fanfic and a 2019 drawing of Joe Musashi from Shinobi and Sheriff Mao Mao from Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart), this is one of the very first cartoon/game pairing I came up with when I started coming up with those pairings for my Cartoon Network/Sega mega crossover project, OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes X Sonic the Hedgehog: Multiversal Collide shortly after the OK K.O.! crossover episode with Sonic and Tails (along with Puyo Puyo/The Amazing World of Gumball, We Bare Bears/Super Monkey Ball, Ben 10/Altered Beast, Codename: Kids Next Door/Virtua Fighter, Ed, and Edd n Eddy/Skies of Arcadia, Generator Rex/MadWorld, Samurai Jack/Bayonetta, and the aforementioned Shinobi/Mao Mao, among many others).

In fact, just the other day, I decided to go on an internet stroll to see if anyone else ever had this crossover idea with Chowder and Ristar, and I found two YouTube videos from sonicadam2 of them fighting each other in the PC custom fighting game engine M.U.G.E.N. Why am I bringing those two up? Today is actually the tenth anniversary of the first of those videos, with the second one having been released the very next day! Not an anniversary I would ever have expected to add to my long list of anniversary celebrations of 2021 (especially as I had never heard of these videos up until just a few days ago), but hey, any excuse I can use to show you all more of the progress I’m making for my massive project is a very good one! My first drawing in the Chowder and Ristar categories after I came out as male-to-female transgender, the latter portion was the 9th entry I made for Multiversal Collide (in the very first week of drawing production, in fact!) while the former was the 38th, and this image overall is the seventh preview for the massive project these two were made for after the Puyo Puyo one I put out for that game series’s 30th anniversary.

Oh, and before I end writing this description: I would also like to announce five things related to Multiversal Collide (like it’s a Nintendo Direct Super Mini or something):
1. The completed drawings I did after the Puyo Puyo preview’s release (Ulala from Space Channel 5, the title character of Johnny Bravo, Phantom R from Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure, Tulip Olsen from Infinity Train, and Wirt & Gregory from Over the Garden Wall).
2. Just ever so slightly under half of The 25 Days of Christmas 2021 (twelve entries) is more previews (Jake the Dog and Finn the Human from Adventure Time bundled as a sequel to the drawing I made of them last March [just like the very first preview from last July, Tails and Darwin 2], a Regular Show/Bonanza Bros. crossover, Akira Yuki and Jacky Bryant from Virtua Fighter, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Suketoudara from Puyo Puyo, new drawings for Dynamite Headdy & The PowerPuff Girls that I also made in this project’s first week of production, the Gunstar Heroes, the aforementioned Rhythm Thief and Over the Garden Wall drawings [Wirt and Gregory being the ones bundled together, of course], Oscar and Hedgehog from Summer Camp Island, and the Tulip Olsen drawing paired with the Ryo Hazuki drawing I made last month).
3. I might add a few Atlus games and [adult swim] shows to the lineup (I already added Persona 5 and Rick and Morty, but lately, I’ve been thinking that more stuff like those would make this crossover even more ambitious and even more breathtaking when it’s finally finished and released).
4. On the same kind of note as that last point, I went on Cartoon Network Studios’s Wikipedia page and saw that two of their shows that debuted on HBO Max (Tig n’ Seek and The Fungies) later aired on Cartoon Network along with Close Enough airing on TBS like it was originally going to, so I will add those three as well and I’ll think of some good Sega counterparts to them (if Summer Camp Island and Infinity Train are still included here as shows that started on CN before moving to HBO Max, I don’t see why those others wouldn’t be when going the other way around, especially with the addition of [adult swim] shows as counterparts to Atlus games [with the exception of Primal, a show made by Cartoon Network whose counterpart in this crossover is directly published by Sega in the form of the Yakuza spin-off series Judgment]).
5. The release date (or at least what I hope to be its release date): Christmas Day 2024! (Delayed from its original Christmas Day 2022 release due to unfortunate personal life circumstances, as well as its previous Christmas Day 2023 release due to increased business in my personal life)

Chowder is owned by Warner Bros. and Cartoon Network.
Ristar is owned by Sega.
