Description My 10th contribution to #spectember2023 : Megamola is a genus of double-finned molas found throughout the open ocean waters of Mars ll. The largest species can measure about 4-8 meters long, 7 meters tall, and weigh over 3,500-4,000 kg in weight, making them one of the planet’s largest and heaviest bony fish besides the swordfish-like Megaxiphias. The megamolas feed upon small fish, fish larvae and jellyfish as well as crustaceans and squid, and some species also dive deep into cold water in order to hunt their prey. In some parts of Mars ll, they share their habitat with semi aquatic mammals such as the Seal-Otters.
