Description Testudotitan magnus is one of the largest land animals ever to live on Mars ll. A prolific browser meauring about 24 meters long, over 6 meters tall and weighing over 14,000 kilograms, it inhabits grasslands with open forests of Acacia-like trees, which are its main source of food, scattered here and there, and it also lives in herds consisting of up to 20 animals each. T. magnus is capable of producing infrasound to communicate over long distances, just as much as elephants or giraffes sometimes do, and it belongs to a family of giant, herbivorous, endothermic reptiles which are very distantly related to turtles and tortoises; some were terrestrial while others were aquatic. T. magnus is also a keystone species since it has a big impact on the ecology of its grassland/open forest habitat; Smaller herbivores, frugivores or insectivores may follow wherever the giant turtle-like reptile leaves behind a trail of half-consumed vegetation in its path, and it also disperses the seeds of whatever plants or trees it eats from.
