Gauha Tebenyāta Arkānya! -Happy Unity Day 2024!
Celebrating Unity Day, the day in which the Archanian Confederation was once founded on April 12, 1425 when the great Archanian warlord Eatānu Rundaron united the seven Archanian states into one nation. After a civil war over conflicting forms of government soon tore the country apart in the middle of the eighteenth century, the victors sought to honor the ideals of the confederation and Rundaron with the establishment of the present-day Archanian Federal Republic on April 12, 1765. As the country’s founding holiday, Unity Day is celebrated with parades such as the one in the capital city of Henras, large outdoor picnics where friends and family gather together, concerts of traditional and patriotic music, and fireworks and illuminations at night.
Here two Archanian soldiers, one female and one male, wield their DS1 Carbines before the Gadāna Tūrva, the great triumphal arch that was once built towards the end the 18th century to commemorate the Archanians’ successful armed resistance against Spanish colonial domination.
Two Zornu Main Battle Tanks of the Archanian Army flank the soldiers on either side, and flying overhead are the Hukra planes of the Green Hussars, the aerobatic display team of the Archanian Air Force that was established in the 1920s after its fighter pilots fought bravely during the First World War.
Standing above the tanks are two different warriors from Archania’s historic past; an infrantryman who served during the Age of the Confederation at the left and an early 19th century Federal Guardsman (basically Archania’s equivalent of the UK’s Household Division) at the right.
