Marina has done it to me again! This is the evil static from her Static Shock fanfic "Through a Glass, Darkly" its a good fic, go read it, its up on fanfiction.net. go, go now!still here?
ok ok ill talk about it. ummm the image just kinda came to me as I was thinking back on her fic. i think the idea of Virgil looking evil and menacing was just too good to pass up. that and i had lots of fun making the electricity glow XD yay for tricks! and heck, for as much as i love that boy ive never drawn him, so it was about time... even if it is his evil doppelganger... hehe...
umm so anyway~

I LOVE valkyrie's story, and I freaking LOVE this pic. Evil!Static's just so...so...evil.
The shading, the expression on his face, the colors...gah, need I say more? It's just...just...so...so...AWESOME!

idiot me.. I can't believe I haven't left a comment for this pic! I've had this saved on my favs since the beginning of my membership, and I still like to come back and look at it. Static looks so awesome! If only he wasn't evil... *pout* Ha! I'll hide him away in a closet where he can't cause any trouble! *hair begins to stand up on end* *turns and sees Evil Static behind her* :
But anyway, this is one of my most favorite pics of Static that I've seen. hmmm... I think I'm gonna use it for a desktop.. That way I can look at him every time I get on the computer! ^^ Love the awesome shadow and lighting effects you did. All I've got is color pencils and crayons, so my Static didn't come out as great... but I think I'll leave ya alone now! ^^ Awesome work! I hope to see more in the future!

This is very good. How did you do the electricity?

well its about 3 diffrent layers, one for the blue, one for the white glow and one for the white lines.
i basically did it by drawing out the white lines, then coloring the blue on a seprate layer behind it. then i copied the blue to another layer behind that and filled it with white and blured it to make the glow.
then i messed around with the opasity of the diffrent layers to make his hand visable and get it looking like i wanted, really after i had the basic layers done i just tweeked it till i liked it. and i think i actually have statics hand between the bottom white 'glow' layer and the blue.
hummm~ hope that made sense

Yes, I'm reading this story as well and I absolutely love it and I'm completely obsessed with it! And I love how you drew Not-Static. You can tell just by looking in his eyes that he's EVIL!

OMG THAT'S FREAK'N SHMEXY! O.O
I read 'THrough a Glass, Darkly" religiously and have been dying to draw a picture for it myself... Unfortunately for me, I can hardly draw Virgil. (I get everything right and then I *DIE* at the dreadlocks)
But you did a very nice job! It's exactly like how I pictured him. XD Wonderful work! ^______^

yeah you know... his dreads were suprizingly difficult O.o i mean how easy do they look~ and then you go to draw them and they look like hot dogs. I had to go for reffrence just for his dreads. but im pleased with them now and they looked much better once the shadeing was on.
