LONG TIME NO UPLOAD, EH? LOOK HOW MUCH I'VE IMPROVED except not really.I was roaming the DVD forum and when I saw Sesaka's ref sheet of Rust , I decided to try and draw her! I thought it'd be fun but it took wAY LONGER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD and I improvised on how she looked a bit. u n u;;;
I'm still rather happy with the outcome though, so I decided to upload it here, too, instead of just leaving it on my sketchblog , haha.

I've looked over .flow so many times, and I STILL don't get what Rust is! >_< And if I don't get it, I won't be able to get far in my comic...

HMMM I think it all depends on how you view the game? o: There are tons of theories on it, I believe. I normally go with the theory that Rust is just a sickness that Sabi has, though. Or something along those lines. = v =;

But, how does Rust affect the game? What makes it different from other Yume Nikki games?

Ahh, I'm not really sure how to explain that! I always figured that Sabi had some kind of disease, that eventually drove her crazy or something. And the "red demons" that appear more towards the end of the game are what's changing her, or they're the disease, and "Rust" is who Sabitsuki eventually becomes because of that. Not sure if that answers your question though. nvn;;;
The "scary" aspect of the game makes it pretty different, though, I think. xD
I'm sure if you look around, you'll find a bunch of different theories to go off of, or something to help explain things better than I do. @ v@;;;

To continue on my theory, the red demons/Rust babies(And by extension, the Flesh Caves area in general, but primarily the area with the mouth background, where you initially see the aforementioned entities) were placed into the .flow program as a warning to Sabitsuki of Rust's presence and what would become of her should she overuse the program......

That's a neat theory! I've always gone with the disease one [probably because it's the most accepted??] but I love seeing what else people come up with. o:

I always like to interpret Rust as a creation of my character Torininja/Kamitsuki(A character that spans Yume Nikki, Yume 2kki, and .flow, which I consider to be the "Yume Nikki Trilogy")........See, in my eyes, the .flow program, made by Torininja, was never something to be overused.......By using it too much, Sabitsuki unknowingly awakened Rust, whom proceeded to take over Sabitsuki almost completely......In other words, Rust, whom was originally just part of the .flow program herself, was sort of a odd form of punishment, meant to keep Sabitsuki from overusing the program.......
