Description
This stereographic map of Ilion's stellar hemisphere will be the base on which I map biomes, etc. Compare to the old maps : they were intended to show all the landmasses on the hemisphere at once but I hadn't really researched projections at the time. I just drew them. Now that I have an actual globe for reference, I can make a more accurate map. And because it's in Photoshop and not MS Paint, it is easily editable.

I chose a stereographic projection so that all the lightside continents are visible. With just a snapshot of the globe (or an orthographic map), large parts of Aeneas (right) and almost all of Polyxena (left) are hidden. I did the mapping more or less by hand using tape and pencil to mark the lines of latitude and longitude. Like all projections, there is some distortion. In this case, continents close to the center are compressed and continents close to the circumference (especially at the equator) are expanded. So Pandaros (center) looks tiny but it's actually pretty close to Polyxena in size.
