EXTRA:
they have no visible mouth & you'd probably never want to see it open
they have glow-in-the-dark-freckles dusting their face, shoulders, collarbone & hips
when they close their eyes, it looks as if they were completely featureless
they hide a lot, usually within the darkness itself
they can be....rather eccentric from time to time.
although they have plenty of patience to spare, they are absolutely terrifying when angered to the extreme
they have a strong dislike for fusion, and the reason has nothing to do with homeworld's notion that fusion between two different gems should be considered shameful
fusing with star sapphire is incredibly dangerous, especially considering the nature of their kind, they may potentially drain all life from the gem(s) they're fused with
the last gem star sapphire fused was with their beloved star ruby. the lovers desired to stay fused together for life, bringing star garnet into being & stayed that way for a long time. long enough that sapphire's reaper-like energy grew unstable & begin the drainage of ruby's life force, breaking her gem as a result.
as a result of this incident, the grief-stricken star sapphire harbor a lot of regret & self-hatred for this, vowing to never fuse again out of fear they may kill another gem. though this mindset may be swayed if the situation is urgent enough
they turned their back on homeworld long ago, their currently whereabouts is currently unknown (they're on earth but nobody knows that...yet)
they actually currently reside at belly jasper's farm, in the company of belly, multistar quartz & mulberry pearl
they'd rather stay on neutral ground when it comes to the everlasting hatred between homeworld and crystal gems

GEM INFO:
blue star sapphires are known to be extremely rare on homeworld, though they were significantly a bit more common when they were first introduced to the public
they were originally created to control homeworld's population, purging overproduced 'commoner' gems in particular. there were times where they'd be assigned the role of an executioner.
their kind were known as reaper/purger gems, due to their primary ability to wipe out/absorb life en masse
by the Diamonds' decision, these gems were eventually purged by large. only very few exist today, our blue star included.
