i hc all overlords have minions theyre able to call upon at a whim, sort of like alastor and his lil shadow creatures. pictured here are maelstrom's most loyal and beloved underlings; after all what's a knight without his steed & fellow junior knights?

>nimue, named after the old fishing boat he'd inherited from his grandfather in life-- is a humble steed and a longstanding animal companion to the storm demon since the beginning of his journey up the social hierarchy.

befitting of her storm king's motif, her body is composed purely of water and is able to gallop across bodies of water for miles on end, of course, such a luxury is reserved only for maelstrom (and those he approves of, she supposes); she would attempt to drown any stranger who tries this. nimue is naturally protective of him, both as a companion & of obligation as an underling; she will rush to his side should she sense his troubles- be it another mood swing or being stuck in a scenario in which he feels threatened, however far the distance between them may be.

when mael died, she became relentless & very much hostile to those who try to trespass on what's left of her master's territory (it didn't matter if a certain void demon "won", to her it would always be maelstrom's kingdom, no matter what). she currently dwells within the seas, lost without purpose, but never straying too far from what was once home.

>mace & claymore are maelstrom's arctic knights, typically treated as backups when extra firepower is needed & guards to the "ice castle", but also when mael feels like striking up a musical number. they are virtually extensions of the storm demon, thus aren't as sentient as nimue is; although mace appears to have a very nurturing streak, whereas claymore seems like quite the abrasive, stubborn meathead. they don't speak, but their gestures sure speaks volumes. they are no longer active, as they died when their "core" died.

(note: they are all more hulking than they look. maelstrom is a few centimeters shy of alastor’s height, while the arctic knights are nearly two heads taller and nimu taller by a couple inches)
