"Well it was around the same time Amy and Sonic were air boarding, but I had 'borrowed' one of that smaller crystals from the master emeralds alter as a parting gift for myself."

"Only I wasn't about to let her get away with it, so we ended chasing each other all over angel island." knuckles stated as Rouge added. "then i saw a portal nearby, might have been the same one sonic and Amy went through for all we know, but I figured it was a ticket out of there, and well i ended up going through and ending up in this quaint little city about a month after Sonic and Amy showed up."

"And I was right behind and....as for all I know it would just lead to another part of Mobius...and in the end I left my home and the master emerald unguarded...I'm such a failure as a guardian." Knuckles lamented as Rouge replied in a comforting tone. "No your not hun, we just both had a bit of bad luck with portals."
