I am SO in love with the generation 1 My Little pony celestial ponies that Basic Fun FINALLY released, when they had been just prototypes since the 80's, I really wanted to capture the concept of the "fancy swirls" / Celestial ponies in a redesign of Princess Luna, from My Little pony Generation 4 (g4). Simply because I love redesigning the characters. Too many artists just seem to draw them as is from whatever canon version they are intended to be from, which gets a little bit boring after a while, seeing the same old design (no matter how much I love that specific character).

I also love the idea that Luna has vitiligo, so I also incorporated that into her design.
