To be honest, I did'nt watch the entire anime. Only because after L died the show got boring for me. Especially becuase they tried to replace L with Near! You Can't replace L!

I did the exact same thing. My friends and I had a sleepover, watched Death Note until L died, (criedXD) and then skipped to the end to watch Light die.
