Well I thought I'd enter this design a mewthree contest...
After several pages of concept sketches, I wasn't satisfied with any of the designs. Then the next minute I had three I liked... So I drew them all up. The downside is that only one can be judged in the contest, so I need to pick the one that's the most creative. With that in mind, I'm likely to decide between either number 2 or 3, because 1 is the whole 'mewthree is even stronger than mewtwo' idea, which I feel is too obvious and over-done ( I just drew it anyway cuz I liked its design ) Oh oh and the tails of numbers 2 and 3 are inspired by DNA strands.

-2nd EDIT: I intended #1 to have dark blue as his secondary colouring. My new monitor with more accurate colour display showed it up as dark purple, so I've altered it to look the way it was supposed to...

So how about a little background story and stuff to go with them?

"Several years after the tragic incident concerning the birth of Mewtwo, a new group of scientists, fascinated by the project and what it could have accomplished, banded together to continue from where the original group's work had come to a very abrupt end..."

-Mewthree 1.
"...Excited by the power displayed by Mewtwo, and the potential to create an even stronger specimen, the team undertook many months of intense research and experimentation to produce a new clone, using solely the DNA of Mewtwo. Eventually their efforts bore fruit, and Mewthree was born...

Being created from Mewtwo's DNA did not provide Mewthree's body cells with a strong basis on which to grow. Thus, it's body is more frail and has developed abnormally. It's mental powers, however, surpass those of Mewtwo, and it is able to compensate for its weaker body by protecting it with its mental forces.

Part of the genetic modification incorporated into Mewthree's cells include's a gene that supresses its free will and enables it to be fully under the control of its creators. The modification proved successful, and the scientists excitedly began to make arrangements to create more of Mewthree's kind and provide them to high-paying organisations for use as weaponry.

From the dark of its cold, steel containment chamber, Mewthree's powerful mind slowly begins to override the supressive gene, unbeknownst to all...."

Stat-wise, this one would have lower attack and defense than Mewtwo, with the losses from these stats being put into its special defence and speed.

-Mewthree 2.
"Theorising that excessive alteration of Mew's genetics was the cause of Mewtwo's savage behaviour, the new team resolved to create a more stable clone that retained Mew's qualities in the hope that this would make it more controllable. DNA from Mewtwo was also included to give Mewthree heightened battle capabilities as well, and, after many months of horrific gene splicing, one specimen finally started to grow and survive the cloning process...

The results were not as successful as hoped for. While Mewthree did indeed retain Mew's playful nature, inclusion of Mewtwo's DNA caused conflicting traits within, and as a result it became unpredictable and erratic in behaviour. It's mischievous nature also made it difficult to control, and it tended to wield its enhanced power with child-like abandon.

Angered and hurt by the disappointment its creators expressed toward it, Mewthree escaped the laboratory of its birth to seek out the two creatures from which it was created. It's intentions are not entirely clear, some speculating that it intends to learn more of them in order to understand its own self more fully, while others say it merely wishes to tease them in battle..."

This Mewthree would have lower attack than Mewtwo, with the difference being put into the HP stat. Special attack and speed would also be switched.

-Mewthree 3.
"Determined not to make the same mistake as their predecessors, the team took on the project with utmost care and caution to ensure that the disasterous consequences following the creation of the first clone were not repeated, and that the new specimen would not possess the same ruthless heart as the first.

Mewthree was created with a just heart and enhanced powers of reasoning and wisdom. However, human folly struck once more, and science once again produced results that were not intended. The pokemon's immense powers began to cloud its thinking, and it began to view itself as a supreme authority, punishing harshly those it deemed deserving of it.

After a short period of time, Mewthree left the confines of the cloning institution to establish its own life seperate from the pitiable creatures which brought it into existence..."

And this one's stats would be the same as Mewtwo's, just with the offenses and defenses switched.

Well, this is officially a very lengthy description... Anyway, hope you enjoy the designs and the concepts!
