Description
So I guess I'll start uploading this stuff on DA too now. Anyone who's hung around me for maybe 10 minutes knows coloring is my weak point, so I've been taking all my TFP fanarts as opportunity to learn to color better. So here's Starscream ala Transformers Prime
My first upload to here in something like two years and it's fanart, hah.
TFP is (c) Hasbro/the Hub
art is mine, drawn in pencil; colored in SAI.

Seems like we have the same style, then :3 I always work on my art by hand and then fix in the comp.
Is this from the ep. Master and Students, where Stars is about to transform?

haha, I don't think i fixed ANYTHING; i didn't even go over my lines to ink them. Straight up pencil, just on a multiply layer. /lazy.
If it's from something, it's probably that scene, yeah. I liked his drop-dive, so I tried to draw it from memory during downtime at work. UuU

Well it's looks amazing anyway :3
I just got my TFP season 1 DVD home this week and was watching that episode, and when he jumped, I was like " Oh, hey- that reminded me of that picture I saw!"

It is good that you're using your fanart as an opportunity to improve your coloring. I'm doing the same. It's still daunting, but it grows to be fun after a while.

Yes it is c:
thank you! one of my favorite parts of tfp Starscream's design is the little pops of color he has. All that grey and silver everywhere, so when you finally see a bit of red or blue on him, it really stands out!

Really awesome - I am trying to do one of Starscream at the moment, and am finding him REALLY hard to draw. Maybe it is his expressions that elude me.

Thanks c:
He's tricky! I find myself getting thrown off simply over the fact that, you know, transformers are GIANT ROBOTS, but he's kind of...delicate looking with all that spindly proportioning and narrow face.

Yes - and his incredible evil grins! With the possible exception of Knockout, no other character can manage such a look of evil delight.

Drawn in pencil and coloured in SAI? I'm fascinated- that sounds like an interesting technique you have there~
Even though you say you have trouble colouring, it looks wonderful. Starscream is gorgeous.

thank you muchly c:
I moved to using SAI over photoshop a little while back since I don't have to zoom in as much to get a clean, unwiggly line, but I have a tendency to get really lazy about going over my lines again and just leave the original ones in, haha.
