The explanation of why she is in her PJs would be right before she ran away from home. If your question is why would she be in her PJs storywise, I guess it would make her look more vulnerable, but it's really a question for the writer. I wouldn't know how else to answer it.

This scene fits very very well with a fanfic written by a friend of mine. I don't think it has ever been posted here though because it would need some serious editing. The boy's grasp of the english language is enough to make his teachers cry sometimes when it comes to writing. Poor Kim.
