Ok, this Dream Up prompt spawned from a pretty out there idea. That being what if the Warp Core Crystal in ISWM was more than it seems and, more importantly was someone we had already seen... sort of. What if the Warp Core Crystal was the Captain aka us or, more specifically the end result of the DA being left for untold decades in the Upside Down.

Wild I know but, think about for a second, we never did find out what that blue eyes thing we saw in the Cryo pod at the start was, the Crystal was never really explained and did seem to have a bit of a will of its own. Also there were points in Part 1 where we seemed to actually be back in the Upside Down and Mark said the DA/ viewer is stuck being the eternal observer of the "stories". Well, what if, after all that time stewing in the Upside Down along with their loneliness and bitterness over the betrayal changed them in an extreme way?

What if they became something that could see the multiverse, see all these other stories playing out like reflections in shards of glass or... crystal if you will. That they got bored with the endless games Mark and Dark were playing and quietly slipped away for, well even they did not know; a vacation, change of tales or just a simple bit of peace and quite. They could not exactly leave the Upside Down due to the "rules" of their role but, they could cheat the system in a way.

Hide in plain sight so to speak by sticking to the rules just enough so that nobody would notice by becoming the Warp Core system/ crystal. A role in the story without a proper voice or face so that nobody would notice. To have some peace and enjoy watching a world where things actually turned out well for a change. Well.... that did not last long but hey... it was fun for a time. Because no matter how powerful the DA becomes, no matter how far they run.... Dark is always watching.
