Description
Due to the todays DD on this work i found the chance to leave some decent comment hereMy influence on this comes for some old painter masters and mostly Rembrandt-who is my favorite one, also, the city i live is located near to some mountains where dark forests like this one can be found,so when i have the time i do visit those places not only because they are beautiful but mostly to get some inspiration.Forest themes under this gamma are my favorites...and the landscapes i face during my little trips there give me the power and the needed feeling to create those kind of works.
Thank you all guys for looking and for visiting my gallery...your support-in any way, favorites, watch lists, etc.,
are highly appreciated!

Don't mind. The style and atmosphere really did remind me of Bob Ross's work - But you can take that as a compliment, since I like his paintings and he seemed to be a fun guy.

Beautifully rich sepia...
Such a nice, limited pallette.
Stylish too.. a touch of Turner in there with the blurring by motion so nicely captured...

Thank you...sepia is my favorite pattern color and it was the time i was making many traditional paintings to sell ,unfortunaly i didnt have the needed time later to continue creating much traditionla art but i hope eventually i will produce more again.Thank you for viewing!

yeah... I painted a personal work on canvas for the first time recently... Until that, canvas, and with it the acrylic medium, took too long as it had drying time of more than a few minutes (acrylic dries a lot faster on card or paper), and so spent most of my time working on paper. even on paper the drying times for acrylic annoyed, so i moved to almost exclusively using pencil or ink...

Hehe,i understand you...for me this is exactly the key of success in acrylic, getting dried out fast gives me the chance to add many "layers" and textures and give more depth in the picture...it sure is a hard medium and it doesnt work for all,on the other hand i get some specific troubles with the acrylics when i have to paint smooth human skin...well there i hope its easier touse some olis instead.I also love pencils and inks

for skin I tend to use brands like Coat d'Arm, which are produced for miniature painting and so generally have a finer pigment. To avoid the canvas texture, a pallette knifed on thick layer of the cheaper stuff (Coat d'Arm's one of the cheaper brands of miniature paint at a mere 95p sterling for 18ml, others costing up to 4 times as much for 17ml or less...). not that I've done much skin on canvas (the one occasion recently I ended up painting over the skin tones I'd done in an expensive miniature paint with the cheaper stuff because the difference between pigment texture jarred... typical...).

Oh,thats nice man...nice thing there are many ways and tools to help in work...skin painting troubles me and its a delaying thing,i also tried recently some pallete knifes on the camvas and i think it helps in many ways and shapes mostly. Also, painting on miniatoures is great,i like it and have done it sometimes myself,it feels sometimes like a good exercise, dont know exactly why, maybe because you get to see actuall 3d lightning i guess.

I grew up painting toy soldiers and similar (my father has a train set so kept buying me Airfix and similar), thus it was a real challenge moving to flat surfaces (and sensible paints rather than enamels) when I went to school... never mind anything else, the bits of paper at primary school were so huge and the brushes so chunky. After frustration with drying times pushed me towards ink and pencil, miniatures became my main colour medium, and the transfer back has been a struggle, psychologically.

Wow man,im sure it was indedd a great challenge...i would also love to try things like that in the future, inks and pencil are also the primary base for learning some drawing and the inks then help you be precise on what you do,have helped me also a lot,i understand you man.

It was not so much the `where do I put the shadow/highlight', `more what tone should said be?', something I'd take for granted in the 3D stuff... it's strange...

Yes,i know waht you are saying man...i have manytimes the problem of where i put light/shadow and other times i just act without thinking...

This is truely amazing... especially your use of light and colours. Minimalistic in this one, and that's why it reminds me a bit of Rembrandt. Just ever so beautiful... I don't know what to say, really, there seems to be a whole world of stories hidden behind these trees, in the mist. I want to explore!

First of all thank you for your kind and wonderfull comment...its true that one of my most favorite old masters is indeed Rembrandt and i obviousky have some influences from his works...i just then try to extend my personal style and i really want to create some mood and behind stories in my works,i think this gives some depth...i also want to explore those places when i create such images like that and my love for forests is endless,i want to epxress all the mystery, mood, fear,or anything else that a dark forest could hide in it.Thank you again so much!its very appreciated.
