Description Silky and vibrant,
Bathed in crimson,
Glistening with dew,
A slender goddess opens,
Revealing a perfumed secret
To the the land of its birth,
Exotic, radiant luster,
Protected by a sharp army,
Decorated with sleek green,
Adorned with romance,
Sprinkled with a sunny glow.

Yet slowly life fades,
And lush reds give way,
To a fatal complexion,
Soft, lotioned skin,
Hardens and cracks,
Finally drooping,
Lifeless and limp,
Bowing to the world,
Before humbling falling,
To an earthen stage.

Shall we applaud thee,
For going out with grace,
Shall we call for an encore,
In the merciful spring,
Will we breathe life,
Back into your blackened frame,
Or is this your final act?

My heart finds comfort,
In your sweet adieu,
For as I beckoned you to live,
You bestowed upon me a dear parting,
This farewell I shall always remember,
For with your last breathe you whispered...
"God gave us memories,
So that we may have roses in December."
