As I close my humbled eyes,

Up upon a pure cotton cloud,
Rests your merciful throne,
As I dance through fields of grace,
You keep me company.

I lay my head on your soft lap,

I crawl up on your massive hand,
And you clutch me oh so tight,
I bask in your warming rays,
Holding on with all my might.

You cleanse me with the sweetest tears,
And love me all the more,
Now that I am a perfect white,
I feel at peace in your heart.

I enjoy your lovely home,
Where golden streams abound.
Yet as the song comes to a close,
It is back on Earth I am found.

I wave good-bye to silky skies,
And the dearest hymns above,
I say farewell to my angelic friends,
Eager to see them in years to come.

Sweep me off my feet once more,
Take me away to my land above,
