In the rush of fear and anger at Snowy’s attack, Zaire passed off the bright flash of light and sparks dancing around their paws as nothing more than a trick of the light. Surely it couldn’t be anything more than that ? Cats never summoned fire from their paws, or brought about blinding blazes of light ; it was just a fact of nature.
Yet as they stood face to face with Snowy, the sparks beneath their paws pulled at their gaze. Once they had fled, paws thumping in time with their heart, they had time to think. Could it have been something more than a trick of the light, back there in the sick bay ?
