sun is rising dreams are fading.The sleeping mermaid is no longer a mermaid.. after long thinking the fish part of the lady seems wrong.
The body is simply dissolving or building up form water after the night pause.

the weird faces are the uneasy dreams she is making and that are fading as she comes back to reality
in the oil panting I have replaced them with a shoal of small fishes

thank you for your kind words, after while that the panting is finished I found that the hands of the lady could be made better, I'm currently working at that but it's not easy !!
