Thanks for the feedback JustArt! To be honest, if it was up to me, I'd leave the characters on a white background lol, but I know that wouldn't feel as completed.
You're absolutely right in regards to the disconnect and I wish I could copy and paste key in-game items that are more detail oriented wherever I wanted them lol. Here's the more ambiguous version

was on the fence about giving helpful advice to you or not, given this is a competition, but.....here it is, there is a major disconnect between the background and the characters that is not helping the awesomeness this piece is capable of. I strongly suggest reworking the background with something more ambiguous or line art based. given the continuity of the contending artwork in here this probably will make or break your ability to slip into the top 100. you've got a few hours. make it count!
